HP DeskJet 1050 Printer Review
The HP DeskJet 1050 all-in-one will get you back £ 29.99. Is it possible to get a practical printer/scanner combo for this much money?
As you would expect, this particular model has a very traditional style and design. Simple, but its function is beneficial. HP has limited control to only three buttons for black and color copies and also for stopping print jobs. The fourth button turns off and turns on the printer. There are three orange indicators, one only for out of paper and the other for low ink. On the back is a flat voltage socket to attach to a small power supply, a black block, and a USB socket, the only data connection.
Inserting both ink and cartridge head, one black and three other colors, is a little tricky, because they are installed far enough into the device. The cartridge goes in and clicking the ward into position, and closing the cover makes the plot go away. You must print an alignment page, which you then scan on the machine base to complete alignment. The scanner is a primary Image Contact Sensor (CIS) device, but, like other devices, it is far more than enough for a simple application.
The CD provided includes drivers for Windows and OS X and a copy of the HP Scan, which can handle scanning to JPG, PDF or TIF. The unit will scan 1,200 PPI.
Our 5-page black text print ended in the 52s, giving the speed of 5.8 ppm even further in the 20 pages longer print, this expanded to 6.3 ppm. In draft mode, a five-page document records a time of up to 7.9 ppm. This speed is quite good. Printing our evaluation of black text and color graphics creates a pace of 2.4ppm, a little slower than the rated speed. Printing a 15 x 10cm photo requires more than a second minute plus one color copy of the page it takes 42 seconds, the final result is very fair for this type of product.
You might anticipate the print quality that comes from DeskJet 1050 to finally be accepted, but it’s much better than that. Black text is perfectly understandable, although it displays a bit of fuzz as a result of ink. The color graphics are bright and also vibrant, with a treacherous pattern that can ignored. Color copies reveal the degradation of specific images, but the colors themselves are very close to the originals. The printout of the picture was pretty decent, although it was rather light when compared with several competitors and spoiled by Scuffmark.
Two HP DeskJet 1050 printer cartridges can be obtained in standard and high yield variations.
Quite extraordinary to find an all-in-one model for £ 30 and unlike a model that produces very satisfying print quality at a reasonable speed, not to mention without emptying your bank account through high ink costs. Not many in the market will touch the price of DeskJet 1050.
